    I'm not sure I even knew all of the basic ones. I can't tell you how many times I've wondered what "DH" meant. :mrgreen:

    I've never even seen the DH until now!

    Years ago I didn't know what lol was for the longest time. I used to think it meant, 'I understand' (don't ask why - I don't know). Boy was I wrong! I don't know how many people I chatted with and used the lol wrong.

    With my luck someone would've said, "Somebody cut me off in the car yesterday and I hit them. I did what I could to avoid them"

    And I would've said, LOL thinking that I was telling them I understood. :oops:

    Anyway, thanks for the list!

    I just remembered one :

    PITA=pain in the @ ("bottom")

    Now I know this sounds terrible, but I'm not the only one who does this, but some of my patients really are a PITA and that is exactly what I or one of my staff writes on their chart. That way we know they are a PITA and we can be extra nice and accommodating without them getting on our nerves. :roll:

    LOL on the thread. I just learned 2- CIO or Cry it Out and HTH- Hope that helps from the iVillage parenting board. No, we don't use CIO on both of our kids. They are so spoiled.

    :eek: That's great Ehilse! And Chessmind...I think I'm gonna have to peek in my chart next time I'm at the dentist to see if they think I'm a PITA.
