Hi, I have a question. Would 2 female zebra finches with no males lay eggs anyway? The pet store said they were both females - now there are 8 eggs. Just wondered what in the world could be going on. Thanks!

Hi yes 2females without a male will still lay eggs if given a nest.

Are you sure they are both females the way to tel is that only the males have orange cheek patches the females do not.

If they have a nest remove it as egg laying puts a strain on the birds when there is a male present so without a male they are just basically laying because its in there nature to reproduce..
