My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. He spends the spring, summer and fall outdoors and winters indoors. I found several sores on his back near his tail and around his ears. I was assuming they were scratches from defending himself. The sores were taking longer to heal than I think they should have but now that they are healing, he is scratching and getting lots of hair stuck in his claws and leaving patches of hair all over my house. I am having to vacuum several times a day. I am concerned that he is pulling too much hair off of himself though I do not see any balding anyware. When I pet him, I do not pull out any more hair than normal. This is strange, I hope someone can help! IP: Logged |

It sounds like your cat might have ringworm. I have a kitten with the same problem. I've done some reserch and found that lufenuron found in Program or Sentinel is saposed to cure it. I just started my kitten on it so I don't know the results. You give it to them once a month for 6 months. Ask your vet check out show cats online.com. Good luck. IP: Logged |
