I have a 15 year old male Himalayan, in good physical health. He has, however, developed an annoying habit of howling. Regardless of the time of day, he will howl. I am at a lost as to why he is howling. He is not in pain, hungry, or lonely. He does not lack attention. Any information or suggestions to end the howling would be greatly appreciated. IP: Logged |

Amy, some whole males do this because of wanting a partner; others do it because they are lonely or feeling lost...mine calls out when I have changed rooms and he wants to find me. LOL! Females also do it cause of wanting a mating partner as well. It is a crying out, yelling for attention in the feline sense. Even though I have 2 Persians, neutered males, only one howls while the other mostly meows softly. He may also not be feeling well or have pain. check to see if he seems to be passing urine frequently in small amounts and possibly with blood. Good luck now. IP: Logged |
