My 2 year old is used to having her food out and readily available at all times. I just got a new kitten and was advised by the breeder to feed him the same way, but the kitten wants the cat food and the cat wants the kitten food...what do I do to make sure my new kitten is getting what he needs????? I had the same problem. While my kitten was still really little (up to 4 months) I had a box with a hole that only the kitten could fit through, so she could get in the box for the kitten food. I put the big cat food up high to where the kitten couldn't jump. Once the kitten could jump up to the big cat food, I had no choice but to let her eat that. I have too many cats to have set feeding times. Now the kitten eats big cat food whenever she wants, and I feed her as much soft kitten food as she wants in the morning and at night. IP: Logged |
