Hi, I bought a Himalayan kitten about 3 months ago. He's sweet and cute, but he is so annoying. At night he cries for no reason, he eats his food, our older cat's food, and the dog food. He takes Trouble's (our Shi-tzu's toys...although they are friends), and keeps everyone awake at night. Plus, when I'm taking a shower, he opens the bathroom door and jumps in. Any suggestions on how to control him? My mother wants to give him away...but I'm way too attached. And with Christmas coming up, I need to tame him to the point where he won't kill the Christmas trees with the Christopher Radcko ornaments on it! IP: Logged |

You have a KITTEN...he is acting like a KITTEN, for crying out loud! LOL tie the tree to the wall, and put the cheap ornements down low where he can have fun playing with them! I'm glad he likes water, that will make him easier to bathe when he grows up, trust me! He sounds really normal, so just enjoy him for now! IP: Logged |

I have a cat who is half Himalayan and will soon be 19 years old. When he was a kitten he used to come into the shower with me -- the water would be pelleting him but he stayed in there just to be with me. He now howls all the time and wakes me up every morning at 4:00 AM. Despite the problems, he's been my best friend for the past two decades and he'll be sorely missed when he's gone. IP: Logged |

Maybe it will settle down later on? I have never heard of a cat who jumps in the shower, has he been de sexed? IP: Logged |

My himalayan used to act that way too. And she still steals our shih tzu's toys! She'll take them and place them in her water bowl. :P She's a year old now and seems to have settled down some. Every now and then she'll run around chasing the dog or the other cat, but she's not as crazy anymore. Rose is right, it's a kitty having fun IP: Logged |
