I have a 10 year old male cat. He throws up his food on a regular basis, about once a week. This has been going on for some time now. He acts compleley normal besides the throwing up. I have not made any changes to his food or lifestyle. I can't figure out what's wrong or if this is a normal cat behavior. It's ruining my carpet and I would love some advise as to what to do to stop the vomiting. IP: Logged |

He could be trying to pass up a hairball. Maybe try a hairball remedy and see if that helps. IP: Logged |

My two cats take turns throwing up their food on a regular basis either due to a fur ball or eating way too fast. However, I always keep an close eye on them and inspect their vomit afterwards for signs of blood, hair and any other abnormalities. If it gets worse and occurs more frequently, I would consult a vet. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Does your cat eat fast? Does she drink water right after she eats? It could be a hairballs but if it is ongoing try a hairball remedy that actually helps with throwing up period so might be a good thing to try. What does your cat throw up?I know its a gross question. Is it hair or chewed food or solid food(like she didnt chew it). If its hair its hairballs. If its solid food she may be eating her food too fast and then if she drinks water right after they have a tendencty to throw up afterwards. If this is the case try putting the water up when you feed her let her digest some of her food first then put it back down. Good luck and keep us posted. IP: Logged |
