I just brought a 7 week Ragdoll kitten home (I also have two cats) on Saturday. She was doing fine on Saturday but I noticed last night and this morning that she is sneezing a little. She was born with another kitten and she was kept inside. Her mother and father are both healthy cats. She has not been exposed to any other cats except her sibling and possibly kittens from another litter. Should I be concerned about her sneezing or about any diseases? How old should she be when I take her to get tested for disease and for her first shots?? IP: Logged |

Hi! I can't answer your question entirely, but I have also had that problem. My cats have moved 5 times and been across the country and back. Every single time we move, they both developed a case of the sneezes. First the one and then the other. It would be nothing serious and it would last a few days to a week at most. I chalked it up to possibly stress and a new environment. However, I kept a close eye on their behaviour and body functions. Check for cold symptoms such as a running nose, wheezing, congested purring, watery eyes and keep an eye on body functions and appetite. You may just find if those areas are fine, her sneezing will go away in a few days. Good luck. IP: Logged |

I didn't see your other question...sorry. I got my cats from the SPCA and they were tested for disease (Feline Leukemia) at 5 months. And their first shots were also at the same time, once they were cleared. But I think they can have their first set of shots at 12 weeks. Double check with your vet. IP: Logged |
