Well, I took her to the vet last night, and it turns out something inside of her had shut down, causing her to become VERY dehydrated. The vet said that she could put her on Iv, but she would end up calling later that night to tell us that she hadn't made it. The vet said that the best thing would be to put her to sleep. So that's what I did. The cat I had for almost 17 tears went to sleep in my arms. The vet made me an imprint of her paw on some sort of clay stuff, I thought that was really nice. My dad said that I could get a kitten, (or 2) but in no way will they EVER replace Pumpkin. IP: Logged |

Hello Becky I am so very sad to hear about Pumpkin. She was very lucky to have such a loving owner and friend. A new kitten will never replace Pumpkin but it may help you come to terms with your loss. The same thing happened to me in December my cat, Kelly died 2 weeks before christmas.Unfortunatley she died at the vets and I never got the chance to say goodbye. The house just didn't feel right without a cat so on 2nd January I bought 2 kittens, they are brothers from a local cats protection society. They were taken there at 2 weeks old because the owner was going to have them put down. We had Kelly from the same society 15 years before. They will never replace Kelly but I can think I can do some good by helping them the same way I did for her. Me and my boys will be thinking of you at this sad time. Good luck and best wishes for the future. Sharron,Bob and Pippin. IP: Logged |

Becky I feel your pain. Just reading your post made tears come to my eyes because it reminds me of my Dixie who died at the vets office while they were declawing and spaying her. I had never and probably never will have a cat like her. I got an autopsy done and come to find out she had a lot of bad stuff wrong with her, and that it was better that she had passed away. So my mom and sister got me a kitten, but I felt like I needed two just to help fill the empty hole I felt inside. The love I had for one cat I lost needed to be filled back up again with two kittens. It will be 3 years this November and I still miss her like crazy. I still have the two cats and they helped out a lot. Hope everything goes well with you and hopefully your new kitten! IP: Logged |

Becky I'm sorry for the lost of your kitty but she is in peace now and she had a good mommy (you) to take care of her for she lived a long life in your love and care of her. Take care and I know nothing replaces the lost of our kitties I lost a male cat two months ago and I can still see him in the kitchen, the living room, on the bed and wish he was still here dam it hurts!
