We have got two cats. We got them two weeks apart and they have been best buddies for over a year now. One is male the other female. They are spade and neutered. We have let them out of the house on rare occassions for a short, monitored periods of time. Over the past two or three weeks the female has been being really mean to my male cat. They used to play and now she pays him no attention and when he follows her around she hisses and growls at him at time they fight. Then again, at times she will go near him and sniff his hind end. I'm not sure what is going on. All I know is the male cat is very lonesome. He will sit and the door and cry and NEVER used to meow at all. Any help? Please email me! I've gone through this, and I'm sorry to say, some cats just never do get along. Hopefully, though, the more they're together, at least they'll learn to co-exist without all the growling. Maybe keeping them together more often will help. Then the "novelty" of a "new" cat will wear off and they can get back to their "normal" lives. IP: Logged |

Well, guess its no surprise that females can be moody My two cats are both female and are litter mates. I went through a period where there were unfriedly to each other until we moved into a bigger place. Their relationship has improved since. I can't say this is the same thing your kitties are going trhough but maybe she is having a moody spell. Be sure to give them equal attention and keep habits etc the same as when they were buddies. Cats, like people, have distinct personalities and I dont think its beyond them to work things out especially if they were friends before. Sound touchy feely, I know but I really dont have any solution..... Good luck! IP: Logged |
