My kitten was in a car accident. I took him to the vet and it was treated for a tail wound and digestion problems. It was finding it difficult to pass urine and potty. the doc said the tubes might have been compressed due to the accident. However the last treatment was 3 days ago and the kitten is expriencing the same problems. It can not pee or potty. What should i do?? Please help IP: Logged |

How old is the kitten? I have a cat that was abandoned at birth, needed bottle fed, etc. He was also having trouble going to the bathroom. The vet had me wet cotton balls and wipe him a few times a day. He said as kittens they're bodies need stimulation from their moms cleaning them in order to go to the bathroom. Since my cat's mom abandon him, it was up to me to clean him a few times a day. He then started to go to the bathroom on a regular basis. Also, when my cat had either gone through, or is about to go through anything stressful, I give him Bach's Rescue Remedy. It seems to help him to calm down & relax. It can be found in most health food stores, & some vets who use either all-natural or homepathic remedies in their practice will sometimes carry it. I'm sure your vet is a good one, but have you considered maybe calling other vets, or animal hospitals/clinics in your area to get a couple other opinions on the situation? I hope a solution is found for your kitten and it's OK. IP: Logged |
