I have 2 cats and I moved house 6 weeks ago. All was great. 2 weeks ago one of my cats (Baldrick) started peeing, once a day, or once every 2 days, on my bed! ( My other cat, Lilac, often sleeps on my bed) So I did an experiment; I went to sleep in the spare room. After 48 hours of no peeing (except in the litter tray) she peed on the spare room bed. Help! It's obviously me, not the bed. What do I do? IP: Logged |

This sounds like a behavioural problem...Aside from changing location is there anything that has changed in your routine? like, are you around the house less..try to think what you are doing different that's upsetting kitty. just my opinion, but I hope it helps. IP: Logged |

Cats pee on beds when they are mad about something, that is their only recourse. Clean the bed thouroughly to get the scent out then try to figure out why they are mad. You mentioned you moved recently, maybe they don't like the new place for some reason. If that is the case try to make it more friendly to them. Cats don't always like change. They may just need awhile to adjust. I moved and my cats adjusted pretty well, but then again the new place is a lot bigger and has more windows. Plus the basement is there place. The dogs don't get to go down there. They like having their own space. (Peeing can also be from medical problems, but since it is only on the bed it sounds behavioral.) IP: Logged |
