Hi I have a cat the has started to limp. she's 10 years old, 9 lbs, indoors only and quite agile. However, recently she has started limping, especially after getting up from a laying down position. It only lasts for about 5-6 steps and then she walks normally. I have looked at her paw and there is nothing there that would cause pain. There is also no swelling. My first thought would be arthitis ( she hasn't gone to the vet yet). Does anyone else have any ideas of what it may be? IP: Logged |

My grandparents dog has arthritis and he seems to have the most trouble with it when he is standing up. That being said, cats are very good at hiding injuries. Your kitty could be injured but able to hide it except when she is standing up and getting her balance. I think a vet trip is the answer. I'm curious to know what the vet says. IP: Logged |
