I know that cats are given amoxcillian which is a penicillin type/strain? but I can't say for sure (not being a biochemist), so you should ring a vet to make sure, and find out the right dosage/and typical duration of treatment. However, they might be other factors you need to check out to. Is the wound deep? Is it swollen with pus? It may need draining which you might be able to do but it can be difficult. If the wound is draining well on its own then thats good. But some wounds need real quality attention, and you need to keep everything clean of course. Also, what state of health is the cat in? what age etc. These are all factors that a vet would take into consideration so you need to at least talk on the phone with one. Goodluck IP: Logged |
