The toxic component in chocolate is theobromine. IP: Logged |

Chocolate is also deadly for a dog. If I remember correctly, 1/2 (or maybe its a whole) a bar of chocolate can be fatel to a med-large dog if ingested. Not sure what it is about wanting things they can't/shouldn't have. Mine loves Spider plants and any other "no-no" plants. I had to cat-proof my house and get rid of most my plants. I caught the two of my cats trying to eat a centipede the other day! IP: Logged |

So it's true about chocolate being toxic to cats and dogs. I had heard something about it somewhere, so I always keep the chocolate away from the pets, but I wondered if it was just a myth. My cat goes wild for Oreos. She can seek them out wherever I hide them in the house. Does anyone know if chocolate is also bad for birds? IP: Logged |
