My cat went to the vets two weeks ago not this past Thursday, but the Thursday before. After he got back, he would not eat anything. Also he does not really pass any waste. He does Number one and number two once every two days. It looks normal. ( I thought maybe it was because his butt was sore from having his anal glands cleansed) He licks gravy off wet cat food. We also tried tuna and baby food and he laps at it. He does drink a lot of water. The vet said there was nothing wrong. He is an only kitty now as we gave his friend to my sister around the time he went to the vet. I think he is depressed. He plays and everything and is not lethargic but when it comes to eating he won't really. This morning he ate some cat food then vomited it out. Any suggestions? I am getting frustrated and it is stressful worrying about him. Should I just let time take its course and eventually he will eat again? Maybe I should try a high calorie food. IP: Logged |

Ok I just fed my cat a half can of tuna mixed in with water for fluids and his regular cat food. He not only sucked the whole thing down but then used his litterbox. I wonder if this cat is training me!!!!!! IP: Logged |

hi,sounds like your kitty may have caught a little stomach bug while at the vets, aslong as he is eating a little and often and is drinking plenty of fluids and when he goes to the litter box there is no blood in his stools and he doesnt have diarreah he should be fine but if the problem persists i would take him to see the vet again just to make sure there is nothing wrong keep us posted of his progress.... Thanks for your suggestions. He ate some more this afternoon. I took him out onto the patio for some fresh air. He definitely does not have diarreah at all. It is solid and looks pretty normal when he goes number two. I have also been letting him help himself to the fresh catnip I grow and he munched on some of that. I wonder how much of this is caused by the loss of his friend? Also do you think I need to try Laxatone from PetSmart as long as he is going number 2? IP: Logged |
