my 11 year old cat has always loved to lick the plastic grocery store bags when we bring our food home from the market, i'm not mad or trying to make him stop it, (it's kinda cute) but i'm just wondering what he can find so attractive about licking the plastic bags? could it be the crinkling noise the bags make when being licked? He doesn't try to eat them so don't worry about him choking, he only licks them for a few minutes then walks away.. Anyone know why? IP: Logged |

My kitten does that too. He is 7 months old. I always take the bag away from him. I't must be the sound of the bag. Tami IP: Logged |

Ditto. One of my cats loves to lick plastic bags, although come to think of it I don't think the other one does. Weird.

There are these fabric bags at PetSmart called "Crinkle-sacks". They sound exactly like a plastic bags and kitties love em. The only thing that could be dangerous about a real plastic bag is the suffocation factor and the handles on the bags. NTC IP: Logged |

My kitty runs around and hops on bags too. I worry that she will get caught in one .. but my friend has had a kitty for YEARS and never has had an incident. My cat likes my duvet cover, she hops on it all the time. IP: Logged |
