Hi, I need some help!!! Someone had dropped some kittens off in our neighborhood and so we decided to take it in. We took herto the vet the very next day and they told us she was healthy and about 8 weeks old. They proceeded to give her the the first bit of vaccinations. Well, she has been having diahrea for almost a week. I called the vet today and they actually were rude, but also, they acted like they couldn't tell me much... I feel soooo bad for her. Is there a certain brand of kitty food that will be okey and can I give her somthing now that will help her poor little stomach?? Please if anyone can help, let me know what I can do....

Does she have any other symptoms besides the diarrhea? I always feed my kittens Purina kitten chow. They like the taste and it is easy to digest. If she is having a hard time eating you can give her soft food, I use Iams soft kitten food. The soft food might perpetuate the diarrhea though. I would feed her the hard kitten food and see how she does with that. If the diarrhea is really bad the vet can give you something for it. I can't think of any home remedies to stop diarrhea.

Thank you for your reply. Her stomach feels a little hard. kind of like its bloatted. No other signs though. I wonder if her stomach is hard or tightened because of all the diarrhea. But hopefully she will get better. Thank you for your reply.

Just a thought. Have you been giving her milk (from cows). That will cause diahrea in most cats. A lot of people know cats a lactose intolerent but assume that means the cats will vomit. Cats will cope with a soy milk, and I think goats milk too. However, at 8 weeks old she will do ok with water only.

Just a thought.

Also chicken and rice blended together is a good food to bind them up (good for acute cases).
