i need ideas on how to get my Jack to stop bitting. i know hes just playing, i dont want to punish him for bitting, i feel like he might think i am punishing him for playing. needing help

I bought my cat a stuffed animal to bite. Whenever he bites me (which is a lot) I taunt him with the toy and he begins biting it. This way he is still playing with me, but not biting me. So far he rarely will just bite the toy and skip the step of biting me first, but its my hope that he'll learn.
