HELP!! We adopted Edgar, a 20lbs neutered male, about 2 yrs ago from a foundation center. We are his 3rd adopted parents. He was returned prior to us because of his urinating problems. We agreed to help him with his problem but have not had the greatest success! He's been to the vet, no problems, we bought him a larger box, we bought him an automated box, we've gotten him a behaviorist, we've used the Feliway...he's stopped going on our area rugs and now goes directly outside the box, we've locked him in the box's room (also our bathroom!) and that seems to be the only way he won't go on the floor but in the box. We've kept him in there for several days and he's done great so we think we can expand his territory to include the bedroom....nope, he immediately begins the behavior again. HELP! I don't want to keep him locked up for ever! He loves to be with us, follows me around the house, wants to sleep next to me, is just such a great little guy! Easily trained to do tricks so why? why can't he learn the trick of peeing in his box?? How can we help him? Do not want to return him. Thank you. IP: Logged |
