I just wanted to thank all who gave me their warm words and support while I was trying to decide what to do for my poor Kitty Santa who had abdominal lymphoma. We had him put to sleep on Saturday morning and he seemed to be totally ready. He didn't shiver at the vet's office like usual, and peacefully went to sleep. I am relieved that he his out of his pain, although we miss him dearly. We are lucky to have another kitty (his brother Claws) although no kitty will EVER take his place. He truly was the best and I thank God for letting us have him in our lives for 8.5 years. Again, my thanks to those who cared. I know we did the right thing. The vet said his tumor was quite large and he wouldn't have lived much longer. I pray that all your kitties live as long as possible. Sincerely, Linda IP: Logged |

Linda, I am so sorry for your loss but you can take comfort in knowing that you did the right thing. Santa is in a better place now and I truly believe that you WILL meet him again, in this life or the next. The thought that I will see my Spooky again is what has kept me going since I lost him. I'm so sorry, Linda! You did do the right thing and Santa knew it. He was ready to go and you were right there with him. He knew he was loved to the very end. It's a difficult time, but it will get better. I found when I lost my dog that making a memorial helped. A framed picture, a collar and/or tags, a memorial stone, whatever works for you - just something tangible as a tribute to how lucky we were to have this wonderful animal in our lives.

I am so sorry! When my dog was put to sleep because of a stroke, we didn't have a memorial or anything, we got another dog instead, but I wish that I had gotten more pics! All current pets are being trained to love the camera, it usually means a treat or a few min. without the dog! I always feel bad about that, because all the pics. of that dog she is either surprised because you woke her up, or it is of her behind because she is running away. I jsut wanted to remind people to take pics. of your pets or you will end up regretting it when you want to look back and remember! IP: Logged |

Hi all, Thanks again for your kindness... it means so much to have your support and understanding. I agree about taking pictures... and photography is one of my dearest hobbies... so you can imagine how many photos I have of Santa! I actually have quite a few photos still on my camera of pictures I took of Santa outside a week before he passed. He was an indoor kitty but loved the sun, so I took him out for what was to be his last time. He really enjoyed the time we spent... and I'm sure those pictures will be my dearest ones. Thank you all. Love, Linda IP: Logged |
