Author | Topic: 6 month old Kitten vomiting after spay???? |
C@ssieKitty Member ![]() Posts: 21 |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm new, both to the board, and to owning a kitten. One week ago today, she had her spay,(she's 6 months old). Now that she's been home a week, she threw up today..not a hairball either..it was vomit..and it was gross. Is this normal?? She's acting fine, but I'm really worried. Any ideas you may have are greatly appreciated. Also, she loves sleeping in my bathroom sink, even when it's wet...I thought cats hated water???She's a weirdo!!! I forgot another thing too,she has been hiccuping alot since the spay...is that bad? I am in the process of changing vets as we speak..I don't much care for the one we have at present. ![]() ![]() ![]() My cats were sick for a day or 2 after the Spaying, but not a week later...Call your vet! Also, my cats love water...I thought they were suppose to be afraid of it too, but they LOVE it. One of mine drinks out of the faucet, and the other sleeps in the sink too. Well, good luck!! ![]() IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the advice. I am going to take her to the vet as soon as I find a competent one. She vomited that one time today and that was it,so I'll keep my eye on her and get her to a vet within the week. Thanks Again!!! ![]() IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() You could also call a vet and ask about the vomiting. It may have nothing to do with her being spayed a week ago but if your concerned its nice to find out for sure. I have a cat that loves to lay in the bathroom sink also even when its wet! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() My cats occasionally vomit for no particular reason. I think it is a cat thing. There are also foods you can feed that help them, if they are doing it a lot. I wouldn't be too concerned over one time, but if you are uncomfortable then by all means, take your kitty to the vet. People who know their animals well often have instincts about when they are sick, and those instincts should NOT be ignored, IMO.
