My cat has been acting very strange. Last night he seemed fine, but this morning his behavior is deffinately not like him. When ever I go near him he bolts off in another direction, and is highly energetic bounding every where. He's been eating and drinking normal, and I haven't seen any other sorts of problems from daily habits. I thought he might just want some fresh air, so I opened the window a crack. He tore out a corner of the screen and was half way outdoors before I could get him back in and shut it. Does anyone know anything about this? IP: Logged |

Is he neutured? Sounds like there is a female in the area that is in heat, and he is trying to get out to mate with her... IP: Logged |

Yes, there are two females around, but they are his sisters and they have been spayed, and he is neutered. IP: Logged |

Hi, Sounds like something could have scared your cat during the night.. They say a neutered cat no longer wants to mate but i dont believe that. My mums females are spayed and still call out like there in heat every couple of months and her tom is nuetered and he still mates with any female in the area. If there is other females around that are in heat your tom will still be able to smell this and they can like dogs smell a female in heat upto 5miles away and this can make them go nuts for no reason.. keep an eye on him to make sure there is no other problems that might occur.. My cats actually get cabin fever this time of year. They start acting a little crazy and bounce off the walls. I don't know how out of sorts you cat is acting, but it may be normal. However, if you are really concerned, you can always call your vet for ease of mind. Hopefully nothing is wrong. Good luck. IP: Logged |

I hate to tell you but animals don't have the same morals that people do. Just because the other cats are his sisters doesn't mean he wouldn't mate with them (if he could, noting he's already fixed and they are too). Also, it just seems like normal crazy behavior. My scottish fold gets like that at night usually around 9 or 10-ish and goes bolting from room to room or when you walk up to her. If he's clawing the screen, use a watergun on him. He'll learn. Thanks, I'll try out the water gun thing. And, yes, I know they don't have the same morals people do, the point was that they were all fixed. Well, thanks all. If he ever starts acting like that again I'll at least have some idea. IP: Logged |

One of my cats has acted like that every morning for the past 3 years. She freaks out if I change my clothes, too, as though I'm a whole different person. It might not mean anything, cats are just silly sometimes. IP: Logged |

So I've realized. But that isn't usually his version of being silly. Thanks, though. IP: Logged |
