Does anyone have any tips or info on transporting two 6 year old, very timid cats by plane? I will be moving half way across Canada and I am wondering the best way to do this with as little trauma as possible for them. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you very much............Jade. ------------------ IP: Logged |

There are a lot of sites on the internet with info on this. With cats you can carry them into the cabin with you, which is the only way I would want to fly with my animals. On most airlines, you are allowed one pet per ticketed passenger, and there is a maximum number of pets allowed per flight. Most airlines only allow 3 or 4 pets total on a flight. If there are two of you flying you can each have one with you. Book your flight early and make sure to tell them you have a pet, so you can make sure there is room in the cabin for your cats. Don't use tranquilizers for them as tranquilizers affect their breathing and can make it difficult for them to adjust to the altitude change. If you are worried about them being scared, I would try something natural like a rescue remedy. IP: Logged |
