We havn't taken our cat to the vet yet and her paw is so much better. It's a little bloody, but she does apply pressure on it and its not all swollen and stuff and I am so happy it wasn't that serious. By the way how can I get my get to cooperate while trying to wash her paw with mild soap and water? IP: Logged |

First wash your hands so that you're not putting any bacteria onto her sore. Then gently wrap her body in a towel (not her head). This will keep her from being able to use her legs as levers to push off and squirm away. Then either sit her on your lap and place her paw in the warm (not cold, not hot) water with mild soap or clean it over the sink.. Then gently dry her paw with a towel. I would still take her to the vet to have it looked at though. That would cost you about $30-$45. If the vet wants her to take liquid Amoxicillin that would run you about $15-$20 more dollars. Hi. My grandmothers cat Angel has feet problems really bad, Shes an all outside cat, but is allergic to grass, hay and stuff, so monthly she has to go to the vet to get the tumors and stuff fixed, her feet are horrible, allways bloody, scabbed, and sore She doesn't even have knoticeable pads anymore, but she' can't be left inside, she will do anything to get out and I mean anything!! She even started chewing the bottom of the doors and around the windows trying to get out. She destroys stuff as well, so inevidably she's an outside cat. The vet does the same as above, but for a day he wraps her paws in some vasaline and puts a cone on her so she cant' take them off and lick the stuff..this helps temporarily. IP: Logged |
