hihi. my kittie (7 months old) is losing a lot of hair these days. and today she got out of the house and got very dirty so I gave her a bath. after the bath, there are massive amount of hair comes of her neck area when I'm drying her and peting her. I don;t know if it;s accidental or she;s changing color. she;s mostly orange yellow, except this white area around her neck and the front paws. and the hair that came off are 90% white... does she have some kinda diseases or does kitties changes color???what can I do to stop the hair from coming off??? You need to take her to the vet to get checked out. Kittens do shed hair, but yours seem to be sheding way to much. She could be sick, or getting sick, get her to the vet. Has anything in her behavior changed at all? Eating, drinking, litter habits??? IP: Logged |

there is no noticible behavior changes. but recently I gave her the whiskas temptations treats. she loves and she just finished a bag today. other than that she still eats her regular cat food. (meow mix original.)would the new food be causing the problem? IP: Logged |

Where is the hair loss, and how long has she been losing it? IP: Logged |

I have never heard of treats causing severe hair loss, BUT your cat COULD be allergic to something in those treats, or even her food. You need to make an vet appointment and have her looked at. Keep us posted IP: Logged |

thanks everybody. the hair loss is around the neck. a little back of her head towords the neck. and shoulder, these are the area with relatively serious hair loss. others i or two piece I think is the normal metabolic appearences.. IP: Logged |

I really don't know off hand what it might be. This article is a pretty good summary of different skin conditions that can cause hair loss, maybe it will help: http://www.nzymes.com/Articles/cat_skin_hair_problems.htm IP: Logged |
