My landlord brought my cat, Monkey, home to me because she was lying in the road. We live out in the country and she is mainly an outdoor cat. She was very dirty with thorns so I gave her a bath. She barely gave a struggle. Monkey will not walk on her hind legs, rather just rolls from side to side. She will not respond to food and seems to be delirious...hissing at nothing, pawing at things, paranoid, very twichy. She keeps on moving her hind legs so I know that they are not broken. It is more of a sickness of some sort??? I will take her to the vet in the morning...any ideas? Also, her right upper fang was broken and bloody. There were no signs of a flesh wound or bite but her private showed just a tinge bloody when I found her. I am almost sure that she was fixed before I got her from a friend. IP: Logged |

I don't know what is wrong, but it sounds like she needs to see a vet ASAP. Are there any 24 hour vets where you live? If so you should take her to one. Until you get her to a vet just try to keep her warm and get her to drink some water. You can give her little bits of water with a needleless syringe or an eye dropper if she wont drink on her own. Earlier I fed the cat some vitamin paste and cat formula with a baby's pacifier medicator. She was very hesitant. No interest in food. I had to swaddle her in a towel. Now she is hissing randomly @ nothing whilst she rolls and skitters around the room. I am praying that it is not rabies but I fear the worst! We are out in the country and the chances are greater than not. I have not tried to feed her water but I do have a fluid syringe I can use. If she resists this, I will be upset for sure. IP: Logged |

I actually thought about rabies when I read your first post. Is she vaccinated? Have you been able to take her to vet yet? How is she? IP: Logged |
