My Lily is approx. 2 years old. I adopted her last year in February. She has a lump on her right side but it is not hard, actually it is really soft and squishy. It is under all the layers of skin and before the muscle wall. Any one have any experience with something similar?? She's seen the vet about it and it doesn't bother her, but it bothers me...... Also, we are going back to the vet cause she was fixed in March (also has an abortion) and seems to be tender around the incision site, and also it is lumpy. She is getting really big (not fat) and hard. I am worried about her.. I love her so much. I brought her home out of the cold (even though I wasn't allowed to have pets in my apartment), she is so lovable, and tolerates my two small children very well. In fact, she sleeps with them at night. IP: Logged |

Hello. Take a look at this brief overview of, 'Lumps and Bumps Under the Skin' web-site. Another member posted it a while back and I think it's a great site to try and figure out what it might be. Just click on the link below. http://www.nzymes.com/Articles/cat_skin_hair_problems.htm#LUMPSANDBUMPORBENEATHTHESKIN IP: Logged |

What she has doesn't fit any of those descriptions, the vet said it was a fatty tissue deposit, but I don't want to take any chances in case there might be some one else who experienced something similar with a different answer. IP: Logged |

I would feel the same way if I was you and Handsome had a lump. If it really is just a fatty tissue deposit, that is nothing to worry about. Still, I know where you're coming from and you want to be certain. If I find any good information on this topic I will post it for you. If you're very worried about it, you can ask your vet if she could do a biopsy to be %100 certain that it is in fact just fatty deposits. IP: Logged |

My Cat Willy has a fatty tissue deposit too, we of course had the lump look at all over and tested but it was just that a fatty deposited. I do know you have to watch them though, check it over once and a while, Willy use to have two but one got infected and started to bleed so we had to have it surgically removed. If you are really concerned they can remove it. IP: Logged |
