Sorry about that.. They said she has a upper respiratory infection. So in turn she has alot of drainage from the nose and eyes. She pretty as of today is just laying around. They told me that it could take a month to clear up but it has been 14 days and she is still no better. I hope this helps..Paige IP: Logged |

If it doesn't get better with the antibiotics, you should take her back to the vet and see if they would do a biopsy on her. The reason I say this is last year my cat a similar condition, with lots of drainage, etc. and after many surgeries (his teeth kept getting abcesses) and a few thousand dollars, they finally did a biopsy and it came back that he had a rare fungal infection in his sinuses. After I bought him the correct medicine, it cleared up. This is just sort of a worse case scenario example. IP: Logged |

Just a note (as you're new) you can simply reply to your previous post the information you just gave (that way there isn't multiple posts about the same thing). Anyway, yes that is very helpful. Your kitty will need a lot of rest. Don't try and pester her to play or be active. Keep and eye on her eating and drinking habits. When cats have a lot of drainage coming out of their nose, they have a difficult time smelling their food. Because of this they may eat a lot less. One helpful thing to do is to use a warm/wet wash cloth and gently wipe her nose if there is any crusty material there. This can also be done to the eye area. Just be very gentle. Also make sure she has a warm place to rest. Give her her medication until the entire dosage has been given to her. People will often feel that their pets feel better and stop giving them the medication and it ends up coming back. Also, lot's of love seems to help out! I hope your kitty feels better soon. Keep us posted. IP: Logged |
