My beloved cat, Fred, of 19 years is terminally ill with a malignant growth in his throat. I don't know what to do for Fred, he has stopped drinking water tonight and isn't interested in eating much either, just sleeping. He may not make it through the night. My other cat seemed to sense Fred is not doing well, he is sleeping with him. I think I am prepared for Fred to die, but I uncertain what to do in his last days or hours to make him comfortable. Thanks for your input. IP: Logged |

It is so sad to see our love ones go but you have to think about all those wonderful years you gave your cat. With illnesses like this there is not much to do unfortunately but just think he will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Brige. Be strong for you sick cat and for the one that will stay with you, keep each other company and loved during this terrible time. All my love to you and your cats, ------------------ IP: Logged |

Just love him as much as you can while you have him. I'm sorry that you have to go through this, but it sounds like you both have had a good life together. IP: Logged |

Thank you all for your concern and support!Fred has had a good life for 19+ years, he's been well cared for. I must give much credit to the Feline Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts, who has given so many cats great medical care. Fred loved to eat people food, as well as cat food. He loved, steak, turkey, ham, pork, spongecake (I never figured out why he liked spongecake). I have many happy memories of Fred, who I adopted from the Angell Memorial Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA back in 1985. IP: Logged |
