i have a beautiful russian whom i have had the pleasure of sharing my life with fro the last 5 years. She hated everyone except me, but she has this horrible problwm with licking her fur off. This all started after i gave them zodiac flea treatments. and it was horrifying to see my 3 babies flopping on the floor convulsing horribley, never thoughts they would make it thru the night but i prayed and say by there side fro 48 hours feeding them burnt toast and drinking from a baby bottle, my younhest at the time was only 6 months old and she has never gotten better, it seems that after all she went thue fleas attacxk her a girl in out apartment building brouight in kitten literally saurated w/ fleas i adviced that was a bad adea. as my cats are strict indoor cats they have never seen the outdors except in there kitty carriers. Now gracie my momma is so attched to me that when i went away fro 1 week she was so distraught she slept in the litter box fro days after i returned home. She has a hard time eating and there f ro vomits very time she eats her teeth had gone bad si give her hard food with warm water which she loves but continues to vomit. Mia the poor baby with the flea problems im conpletly distraught over vet says not to dare even giving her advantage as the zodiac did such horrible things to her but some one how we ended up with fleas again on her only ! i have washed combed gave her garlic sprayed lemon juice on her nothing is working does any one have any suggestions ? why don't you feed your cat with the bad teeth soft food? And get a flea comb for the kitten. IP: Logged |

Try feeding her some canned cat food. ITs soft and will digest easier. As for the fleas. If she's infested this bad, th vet could give her something for the allergies.....you should be bathing her weekly if its as bad as you said. IP: Logged |

Hello. When you used flea bombs in the house, did you remove the cats? You can never leave any animals or fish/exposed food in the house when you are flea bombing. It can make any animal very ill. IP: Logged |

I'm afraid I don't have much advice about the cat who is throwing up. How much time has gone by since the zodiac incident? Has your vet recommeded and special diet for her? My kitten had fleas when he was too little to be treated with advantage. I kept a strict redgamin of: I was able to completely rid my cat of fleas without chemicals. Its important to be diligent about this stuff, even when the fleas appear to have gone because there eggs are too small to see and grow for several weeks. I've also heard of putting a cheap flea collar into your vacuume cleaner's bag to avoid the flea eggs from hatching in there. If you're hesitant to use a chemical, changing the vacuume bag frequently could serve this purpose too. Can your older cat be treated with Advantage? If so this would be one way to keep an infestation from growing out of control. Good luck! PS. Fleas often carry tape worms. With an ongoing flea problem, your cats should be treated for tapeworms regularly. My cat vomits when I give her certain foods, mostly canned cat food. I think this is because she is eating too much of it. I usually leave out dry cat food and she always has three bowls to choose from so they are never empty. But when I give her a special treat, I feel that she eats too much food or too fast. Soon after she vomits it up. It may also be due to hair that she cannot digest. Maybe try some hairball treatment food. IP: Logged |
