Our dear clinic cat , Nibblick , was put to sleep yesterday. He was diagnosed with an Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma less than 3 weeks ago. The tumour grew 300 times its original size in that time. He escaped and went 'missing' for 2 days, and when he returned I was shocked to find him with a swollen face, neck and even effecting his eye, his tongue hanging out, unable to drink or eat. He was dehydrated and in severe pain. He was bleeding from his mouth and drooling constantly. I burst into tears, and begged for the vets to put him to sleep. He was in so much agony, I could bear it no longer, and we eneded his suffering. We will miss you dear Nibblick, you saved many lives over the last 10 years with your precious blood donations, I am sorry we could not save yours . RIP my furry friend. IP: Logged |

I'm so sorry about your Nibblick. There are so many sad posts today. I remember when you posted about his condition. You mentioned he was a clinic cat. I'm assuming that meant he lived at a vet clinic? How did he get his unusual name? Again I am very sorry. Hang in there. IP: Logged |
