I need some good sound advise about this.. About a month ago, my house mate left for a job out of town. That night my cat went nuts looking for him and was doingt his horrible howling and hooting sound. He's done this in the past when he couldn't find one of us in the house, but does anyone have a clue what this really is or is it something I need to worry about. He keeps going through the house looking for him and hooting. Please email me and let me know what I can do or if I need to worry. Thanks [This message has been edited by JR98664 (edited 02-14-2004).] IP: Logged |

no need to worry, the hooting type sound is usually what the cat makes when he has lost a fellow cat/ human friend. my cat does that as well sometimes when he can't find his sister or me, i usually just repond with the same sound and he's ok after a bit. make sure you give your cat a soothing pat and reassure him that everything is alright. cat's get very traumatised when an integral member of the household leaves. hope that helps, hope your cat gets over it soon. cheers. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Whoever responded to my questions. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I really do appreciate it. Now if I can just get him to stay calmed down. JR [This message has been edited by JR98664 (edited 02-14-2004).] [This message has been edited by JR98664 (edited 02-14-2004).] IP: Logged |
