I have 2 cats. One himalayan and one calico. My himalayan(cocoanut) loves to sleep on me or on anyone and he just loves everyone. my calico (Biscuit) on the other hand loves me too, but in a strange way. She doesnt like to be held, she likes to sit in your lap and purr and be happy, and she will just be purring. and then all of a sudden she just starts biting my face while purring, not hard but it still hurts a little and she does it while shes purring so i know she isnt mad at me.. she just does it and then when you make her stop she just goes back to layin in your lap and purring... anyone know why shes doin it? stephanie IP: Logged |

u know my cat chyanne does something like that she will come up to me and ill pet her and she will start purring etc.. and then she will start giving me love bites (i call it) but she does it hard and she dosent relize how hard she is doing it she will also do it when i stop petting her and she still wants attention.... my other cats do teh same thing they will bite to when petting them etc... but not as hard and chyanne does its just a way of expressing their feelings i guess.. my 2 cats garfield and simba will rub noses w/ me and give kisses.. they r all different in how they express themselves... i think its cute though.... Hello. Are you petting her when she's in your lap? The reason I ask is cats get an 'overload' of petting to the point where if it's too much they may bite/hiss to show their displeasure from the excess petting. IP: Logged |

all my cats give that light biting gesture, if you notice cats usually do that to other cats too, and they find it quite friendly. yes, they get a bit rough once in a while, and usually i just tell them with a stern voice, "hey not so hard", and they soften up. but becareful, cats' teeth are real sharp! ///ej ------------------ IP: Logged |

My siamese x does this too usually to my hand while Im petting her. It seems like she does it out of excitement when she is really enjoying a good rub. IP: Logged |
