Hello...I was just wondering how much you guys feed your cats. I have two kittens around 7-8 months old (give or take, I rescued them so I am not sure) As of now I leave a bowl of dry food out all the time. I feed them twice a day with wet food. They get one 5.5oz can in the morning that they share and the same at night. Should I be feeding them the wet food twice a day or just one? They usually dont eat all there wet food (sometimes they eat more and somedays alot less) So i am not sure how much I should be giving them. Does this sound right or is this two much? Thanks in advance. IP: Logged |

I don't think it sounds too much to me. How is their weight? I feed my cat one Fancy Feast can a day. He has dry food out all the time. He's a perfect weight. I guess it depends on the cat, and I think the best way to judge that is by their weight. IP: Logged |

I free feed dry food but I only put out about 1/2 cup per cat per day. I usually split a small or sometimes a large can of wet food between the six of them. I would just keep an eye on their weight. If you notice them gaining too much you can reduce the amount you are feeding. IP: Logged |

Kayli is 8lbs (she's around 7 1/2 months old) and Pepi is 3.4 lbs at 4 months old. They always have dry food (well, until Pepi eats it all ..) and I give them a can a day of Iams wet kitten food. I split it in quarters, one each in the morning and then one each at night. But Pepi eats EVERYTHING, he'll sit there until it's ALL gone. Sometimes I have to remove him from the kitchen so that Kayli can eat! IP: Logged |
