I know most of us adore the average DSH or DLH and that's what we have - mine is Zeus....but if you did decide to go with a pedigreed cat which would you choose? I have 2 rescued Siamese (local rescues...not through a group) and ADORE them (will always have one hopefully 2 in my life now...and PS I'm working on becoming a foster for Siamese Rescue) So if you did choose a breed which is your favorite? Like everyone else, the mix breed would be top choice. I've got two pedigrees, one is a ruddy abysinian and the other is a black persian. Both are males and are very loving. As far as pedigree types, from what I know, I would say the abby is great. These are what I call dog personality cats. They love to be petted and held and will even give you hugs. At least mine does (lol). My husband had one several years ago and his cat did the same thing. Must be a trait with the aby. Any other aby owners out there? Even though I have the two pure breeds, I still prefer my mix breed cats. My favorite is a seal point siamese mix. I don't know if she's a balinese or what, her hair is a little longer than a regular siamese. She's really sweet and pretty. I also have a lynx point siamese mix. She's sweet but very pushy (lol). Ever heard the expression, dog in a manger? Well, she's cat in the manger. She DEMANDS all the attention (lol). IP: Logged |

I just adopted a female British Shorthair last night. She was very affectionate to her previous owner who passed away 2 weeks ago. I love affectionate cats and heard British Shorthair are very affectionate so that's why I chose a British, although I like all cats, and they don't have to be a pedigreed, it just happened that I was able to rescue one. Right now she's in her hiding mode from the stress of changing environment. Hopefully she'll come out in a couple of days? PS British SH are a very stocky breed, very big bone. Didn't realize how well built they are. Her brother was 20 lbs, like a weight lifter of the cat world. LOL IP: Logged |
