how do you treat Snoopy? Do you yell at him? Do you show preference for your cat over him? Maybe he knows you don't like him and he's reacting

It sounds like he's more "playful" than cuddly. My cat is the same way, his nickname is bastard.

I don't know the details of this cat, but I'll tell you about mine. When my cat starts attacking and biting me its a sign that he has a lot of energy that he needs to play off. I have a stuffed animal that I put between him and me and he knows that its there for him to bite and wrestle with. He'll even play tug-o-war with me over it just like a dog! If I'm not able to play with him when he wants I'll throw a toy mouse down the hall and his natural instinct is to chase it.

When Snoopy bites and is mean try throwing a toy for him to chase or get a laser pointer or some other toy. If all else fails, just put him in another room for a while to calm down.

I usually am hesitant to assign people-like emotions and reactions to animals, but maybe Snoopy gets jealous of you, if he is used to being your boyfriend's center of attention.

My kitty Bug is kind of the same way. He bites a lot but never breaks skin and it never hurts. Sometimes they are love bites (really soft, hardly biting my hand when I am petting him and he is purring) Other times if he walks by me and I pick him up to pet him or put my hand out to pet him he will bite, agian it never hurts. When he does this I just leave him be, when he wants attention and wants to be pet he comes up to me and initiates it. Maybe it would be best to just let the kitty be and dont try to play and pet it, and if he wants attention or pets he will come to you. I also heard that most cats dont like to be picked up and grabbed and handled, espcially by someone who is not their owner. Maybe he also needs to get use to you. If you do play with him, use one of those long poles with a string and a feather at the end, it is a really good way to bond with a cat without getting bites. Goodluck!

Lol Kyles101. My cat handsome does the same things as Snoopy (by the way I like his name). Handsome will also play 'sneak attack.' That's when he is hiding somewhere near to where I am walking and he'll charge out at full speed and lunge at my leg. He'll grab onto my leg with both paws and his teeth (not too hard). Then after he has 'sneak attacked' me he'll jump off my leg, run around the house, find another hiding place and do it again. He's so funny.

I think cats in general just avoid people they don't like. It does sound like he is playing with you.

I used to have the same problem w/my bf's cat. He absolutely adores her and I couldn't stand her for a while. She would purposely urinate on his pillow/clothes/bed when she was upset or mad. If he didn't spend the night at home, he would come back to other "surprises" on the floor by his door. But he would never get upset at her and just say that it was his fault for neglecting her (which he certainly does not). Anyhow, I knew how much she meant to him so I would make an effort to be friends with her and pet her and she would always shrink away from me and run away when she saw me, which was weird since any other new person she encountered, she was completely fine with. So after a while, I just started ignoring her (not in a bad way, but not going out of my way to pet her or play with her) and after a while, she started coming up to me and now we get along great!
