I have two shih tzu puppies, one 6 mos and one 12 wks. This question is regarding the younger one, who we just started walking this past week. Whenever put on the right side, he will either immediately dart over to the left side, or will stop dead and refuse to walk entirely. But he seems to do just fine on the left side of whomever is walking him. When I took him for his second shots yesterday, I mentioned it to the vet. The vet thought it might be a vision issue in the right eye, and tried to do a vision test but couldn't make a firm conclusion either way regarding the right eye because our puppy was generally uninterested and fidgety. We haven't noticed any other problems whatsoever at home (ie. the vet said he may always want to be on one side, stay next to one wall or side of our other dog, run into things in the dark)... Does anyone have any wisdom to offer in this matter? Could it just be a preference? Am I overreacting? IP: Logged |
