Hello All,

Our little 4 1/2 monthold Abbey, would not go out side last night during a rain and wind storm, I don;t blamce her, but I was out in it, trying hard to get her to come on to the grass and do her thing, but she did not. After a few more trys atthis, I gave up, and she went poop in the house, and then she trid to eat, I guess to hide the mess. Then this morning, I woke up to the rest of the poop, and pee on my floor. Does anyone have any idea's on how to cope with bad weather and house training?

Thanks!
Cindy

Cindy,

I am having the same problem with my 9 month old. She will not go outside if its raining. I dont know what to do. I dont have a yard, I just have a patio but she still wont go out. And I leave her home during the day so I need her to learn to go on her own in the rain. I too need advice. Thanks

I always take my dog out when the weather looks bad because its hard to get her to go when its raining. Even though she does most of the time. So I try and take her out before it starts. When i am not home, she can go for 8-11 hours without going out, but when I am home she has to go like every 3 hours! you should try and take your dogs out before it starts raining or at least try and paper train them so that if the DO go inside, at least its on the paper.

My poodle hates any kind of bad weather. She will halt at the door if she see's rain. But, I put on her rain coat and force her to walk out. I just walk down the street and keep walking till she goes. She does. She is older though.

Do like my mom did with her chihaua (how do you spell that!!), she litter box trained it. Now it can go out the doggy door if it's not raining, or in the litte box if it is. However, if your dog is too big for a litter box, then you're back to square one!
