Hello i just wanted to know if anyone knew if it was common or not for yorkies to have extra teeth. My little girl is 11 months old and she has 4 extra teeth. the vet said i have to have them pulled but it's not an emergancy. but i should have them pulled asap. she also said that most of the cost would be the medicne to put her to sleep but she is only 4.3 lbs how much can it take to put her asleep she is so tiny IP: Logged |

It is important to pull out any baby teeth that have not fallen out already. They can cause the teeth to dig into the gums and cause pain. They can also screw up the natural way the teeth should sit in the mouth. Just make sure your vet is used to dealing with small dogs. ------------------ IP: Logged |

My 7 month old Yorkie still has 3 extra canine teeth.... Your vet sounds like mine....$8.00 a tooth to have them pulled but the money will add up for the anethesia (SP?)... IP: Logged |
