![]() ![]() ![]() First of all, I am SO glad to hear that you are doing your research on the breed before purchasing!!! ![]() I can't provide you with any owner feedback since I do not own one, but I would suggest that you take a look at www.yourpurebredpuppy.com. That site gives an honest review of both the positives and negatives of pure bred dogs, and does an excellent job of doing so. Please don't think I am trying to scare you away from getting a Yorkie, nor am I trying to undermine your research, but PLEASE be 100% sure that the Yorkie breed is the right one for you. Terriers, Yorkies in particular, have some temperament related characteristics and behaviors that are completely unbearable to some. Only reason why I mention this is because I know of too many Yorkies being surrendered to our local shelters because the owners could not stand the Yorkie and their terrier temperament and behaviors. That is DEFINITELY not to say the the Yorkie breed is bad, because I do know of many VERY happy Yorkie owners, it's just that Yorkies are not for everyone. The same is true for many other breeds out there, it is not just specific to Yorkies. Best of luck to you! [This message has been edited by MyBabyShihPoo (edited 03-04-2004).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I see. I want ayappy dog because my german shepherds dnopt bark they just fun to the door so i need something that would warn the person that theres a dog inside because where i am from usually poeple will knock once and wlak in. and my German Shepherds dont liek that so i have to run to the door really quickly before they try and do anyhting. But my oldest one is the only one that has ever bitten anyone and that was when someone broke in my house. -Ashley [This message has been edited by QueenyJr (edited 03-05-2004).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hello and welcome! I don't have a yorkie but a very good friend of mine does.... She's about 1 1/2 years old, low maintenance (compared to my shihpoo), and is a pretty good dog all around. She doesn't bark much (or I haven't heard her complain about her barking alot!) HOWEVER, she's very "skiddish" and shy! I don't know if that's a breed trait or just the way SHE is. Because yesterday I found a Toy Yorkie in the street and immediately picked her up. She was the sweetest thing and was constantly licking me on the way to find her home (thank heavens for dog tags people!!).... so I'm assuming the difference in personality just depends, just like us humans. hehe ![]() IP: Logged |
