i would like to ask if there are schools that have courses in dog grooming? or is it something that is an "on the job training" type thing? How old do you have to be to take a course in it? I would just like to know because i have always wanted to do dog grooming. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Daphne, There are different ways to get into pet grooming. One is to get hired at a shop (usually as a bather) and after you're there for some time, you begin to apprentice. There are also dog grooming schools as well as home-study courses. Try going to www.petgroomer.com for a list of schools and courses. IP: Logged |

My daughter started out by working in a pet shop and then kinda moved from sales to helping with the dog washes and then helping groom .... and so on. I really don't know how old you have to be, but she was 17 when she stated working at the pet store. IP: Logged |
