My vet gave me a pill (sorry, i forget the name and am at work) that he recommended to give our pups once a month for the rest of their life to prevent heartworm. I have not given them it yet because I want to do some research. It seems odd to me to give an animal a pill for something they do not have. Any thoughts? IP: Logged |

hopeful, GIVE THOSE PILLS TO YOUR DOGS!!! they do not treat heartworm, they prevent it!!! Those little pills cost soooo much less than treating a dog with heartworm, still providing that they live through the treatment. Heartworms are caused by mosquitos. They live in the heart of the animal and reproduce there. Heartworms can and will kill a dog if left untreated. These pills will not harm your puppies, it will save their lives. It's kinda like getting the flu shot every year, you don't do it to treat the flu, you do it to prevent getting it. PLEASE GIVE THEM THOSE PILLS!!!! IP: Logged |
