I would only put 4 oscars in there. The general rule for oscars ins 55 for the first and 25 for each additional, but that ONLY works if they get along VERY well which rarely happens and the more you have the less likely it will be that they will all get along. So otherwise you should alot abou 50 gallons/oscar. And with that many oscars, I would avoid other cichlids at tankmates because you'll probably end up with a lot of aggression. If you really want tank mates, I would stick to a couple bottom dwellers or maybe a few dither fish. -Chelle IP: Logged |

FWIW, I wasn't saying you can't keep other new world cichlids with oscars. I just meant that the more cichlids you throw together, the more likely it is that you'll have problems. If you go with one or 2 oscars, you could probably get something like a jack dempsey or convict. -Chelle IP: Logged |
