How high is it? Although fish have an ideal pH, most of them can tollerate a fairly wide range (6 - 8). Unless the pH is really off, I wouldn't try adjusting it because fluctuating pH is a lot more stressful for fish than one that is slightly off. But to answer your question, you can use peat moss to lower pH and crushed coral to increase it. However, I've never used either so I can't tell you exactly how to go about using it (I think you can just put some in your filter, but don't quote me on that). -Chelle IP: Logged |

With pygocentrus nattereri (I'm assuming that's the piranha you're getting), you would be ok if youre slightly over 7, not by much though, like 7.1 or 7.2. The general range is, 6.6-7.1 I might suggest water changes? IP: Logged |

INVEST IN A HANG ON FILTER, AND BUY SOME PEAT MOSS TO PUT IN IT. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN THINK OF. EVEN IF IT IS A SMALL CHEAP ONE. IT WILL DO THE TRICK. IP: Logged |
