HI MALINDA. IM NOT AN EXPERT ON BIRDS, BUT I HAVE HAD ALOT OF THEM. ALL PARAKEETS. THEY MAKE A GOOD PET. THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE AND THEY DONT EAT ALOT OF FOOD AND THEY DONT MAKE A BIG MESS. I HAVE FOUND THAT ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE A MIRROR IN THEIR CAGE. THEY LOOK AT THAT AND THINK ITS ANOTHER BIRD, AND SO THEY DONT FEEL SO LONELY. ITS ALSO BEST TO TRY TO FIND A CAGE THAT HAS THE BARS GOING ACROSS INSTEAD OF UP AND DOWN CUZ THEY TEND TO SLIDE EASILY ON THE VERTICAL BARS. MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS REFRESH THEIR WATER. I DO THAT ABOUT 3 TIMES A DAY. THEY ALSO LIKE CUTTLE BONES WHICH YOU CAN FIND IN ANY PET STORE OR GROCERY STORE. IT HELPS KEEP THEIR BEAK SHARP. ITS GOOD TO TALK TO THEM. I LET MINE OUT OF HER CAGE ALL THE TIME. I DONT MIND HER FLYING AROUND. BUT IF SOMEONE DOES, THEN ITS WISE TO GET THEIR WINGS CLIPPED. ESPECIALLY IN A HOUSE WHERE THERE IS ALOT OF PEOPLE COMING IN AND OUT ALL THE TIME. WOULDNT WANT THE BIRDY TO ESCAPE OUT THE DOOR. I HOPE I HAVE BEEN HELPFUL TO YOU. GOOD LUCK. ERIN IP: Logged |
