My grandma has a parakeet and she thinks he's sick. Can anyone help me?! She said that he's all puffed up. And that he poop is black...is that normal? IP: Logged |

Hi, If you mean that hes puffed up as in its feathers are staying fluffed thats definently not good!! You should take him to a vet soon if you already havent. Feathers staying fluffed are usually a sign of illness as the book I just got said. And as for his droppings being black, thats not good either. They are supposed to be small, flat droppings that appear white in the center with a dark green edge. Thats with a healthy parakeet. I'm told that, this may sound disgusting, but you should keep an eye on their droppings. I really hope I wasnt too late to help you. IP: Logged |
