OUR SULPHUR CRESTED COCKATOO HAS A HABBIT OF PULLING IT'S FEATHERS OUT. IS JUST ABOUT BALD UNDER THE WINGS. LIVES IN A 2 METRE CAGE AND IS NOT BORED. LIKES CHEWING INTO BOXES AND WOOD. FED EACH DAY WITH GREENS,SUNFLOWER,PARROT AND SMALL BIRD FOOD PLUS 4 ALMONDS. ALSO LIKES TO SIT OUTSIDE ON A CHAIR WHEN FINE WEATHER. HAS IT'S OWN SPRINKLER SYSTEM ON TOP OF THE CAGE WHEN WEATHER GETS VERY HOT. WAS GIVEN TO US ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. ANY INFORMATION APPRECIATED. THANKS BARRY IP: Logged |

there is a couple of reasons why your bird does this 1st is mites that are aggrivating him 2nd is boredom he mite lok amused but most birds do 3rd when birds get to a certain age they just like doing things like that from the sounds of it because he likes chewing boxes and things like that when he doesnt have something to chew he has took to chewing his own feathers when a bird starts this its hard to break the habit but feather plucking with a single birds usually signals boredom IP: Logged |
