I wrote about my parakeet,Kiwi, earlier, and said he wasn't moving around much. I had for more than a month now, and he is moving and exploring the cage now. Questions: Kiwi is in the computer room. When some one is typing on the computer he makes little cute shirpy sounds. But recently he's been making a louder, almost shrieking noise when someone is typing. Why is this? Is he unhappy? Does he want to compete with the sound? He also makes that loud shrieking sound even when some one isn't typing. Is this bad? Sometimes we get a bit annoyed because it is loud. How can we prevent this? I've heard putting a sheet over his cage once and a while helps. Thanks! IP: Logged |

I love that name Kiwii did you get that name from here? Because I remmember suggesting that name. Well if he is outside and he makes that noise stop typing and say NO in a loud voice. Try to ignore him too because you might be doing things like saying oh kiwii be quite and he thinks your talking to him so that could be it. If he is in his cage cover him up for a little (it dosnt always work) and remember birds = noise and sound making and OFCOURSE other great things so hope that helps! IP: Logged |

Don't worry...my old bird powder...when i was in my room typing he would make that earpericing chirp... she just thinks its a game your playing with her...but if she does it and dosen't run from side to side/jump around'or bobb her head she might think its a bad thing...you'll just have to pay attention.
