My little brother got two parakeets a little more than a month ago. When they first got them only one would come out. My father read in a book that you should not force them to come out, so they never forced the other one to come out. Now nether one will come out and the one that did now attacks when you try. And now they are constently screaming. Any ideas on what they can do to stop the screaming? And make them more hand friendly? Thanks. IP: Logged |

To make them more hand friendly, I would suggest putting your hand in their cage and just holding it there for a few minutes, a couple times a day. And eventually increase the time your hand is in the cage. Play with their toys, mess with their food, etc. so that they figure out that just because your hand is coming in the cage doesn't mean it's going straight for them. Also if they bite at your hand do not pull it out of the cage in a hurry. The bird will think he has drivin you away and when he doesn't want your hand in all he has to do is bite at you. Good Luck!
